Rising Eagle Lodge - 3BR Log Cabin by AuSable River, State Land & Trails | Cabin in Grayling
3 Bedroom Cabin in Grayling
Welcome to Rising Eagle Lodge — a true Northern Michigan log cabin retreat built for people who want more than just a place to sleep.
Set on 2.5 wooded acres just outside Grayling, Rising Eagle Lodge gives you the peace and quiet of an Up North escape while putting you close to some of the best outdoor recreation, small-town charm, and day-trip destinations Northern Michigan has to offer.
Inside, soaring wood ceilings, a dramatic wall of windows, spacious gathering areas, and a huge curved kitchen bar create a warm, comfortable place for families, couples, hunters, anglers, and friends traveling together. After a day outside, cook together, stretch out and relax, gather around the bar, or simply enjoy the lodge atmosphere.
Outside, you’ll find an expansive deck, outdoor dining space, a fire pit, Traeger grill, Blackstone griddle, and peaceful wooded surroundings that make it easy to slow down and enjoy where you are.
And the location is hard to beat.
The Au Sable River is within walking distance, offering excellent trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and beautiful scenery. Thousands of acres of state land sit directly across the street for hunting, hiking, and exploring in accordance with applicable seasons and regulations. Nearby access also connects guests to an extensive network of snowmobile and ATV trails throughout the area.
Several lakes are only a short drive away, including Lake Margrethe, Kneff Lake, Wakeley Lake, Bright Lake, Glory Lake, and others, giving guests plenty of options for fishing, paddling, swimming, boating, and spending time on the water.
Guests looking for an even better outdoor experience can contact me about guided trips through trusted local guides I personally know and work with. Guided bird hunts and guided trout-fishing floats on the Au Sable may be available and are booked separately, subject to guide availability, seasons, weather, and applicable regulations.
Downtown Grayling is only about 7 miles away, so restaurants, shops, and local events are close enough to enjoy without giving up the quiet rural setting.
Each summer, Grayling comes alive for the AuSable River Canoe Marathon, one of Northern Michigan’s signature events. Golfers also have plenty of options nearby, with local courses close by and the Gaylord area — known for its abundance of great golf — roughly 45 minutes north.
Looking for a day trip? Traverse City and Northern Michigan wine country are about an hour away, offering vineyards, restaurants, shopping, and the shores of Grand Traverse Bay. Head farther north and Mackinaw City and the gateway to the Upper Peninsula are roughly 1½ hours away. From there, guests can cross the Mackinac Bridge or catch a ferry to Mackinac Island for a memorable day of sightseeing, biking, dining, and exploring.
Spend the morning floating the Au Sable for trout. Hunt birds or explore state land in the afternoon. Ride the trails, visit a nearby lake, play golf, tour wine country, head north for the day, or simply stay at the lodge and enjoy the quiet.
Then come back, fire up the Traeger or Blackstone, gather around the fire pit, and enjoy a Northern Michigan night under the stars.
Dogs are welcome, and there is ample driveway parking for guests and their vehicles.
Please note that the garage is not included with the rental and is considered an owner-only area unless prior arrangements have been made.
We are also continuing to make exterior improvements to the property, so you may notice a few unfinished cosmetic areas outside. These do not affect the comfort or enjoyment of the lodge during your stay.
Rising Eagle Lodge is the kind of place where you can pack a lot into a trip or do absolutely nothing at all.
Whether you’re planning a family getaway, couples weekend, hunting trip, fishing adventure, snowmobile weekend, golf trip, summer vacation, or simply a few quiet days away from the hustle and bustle, this is a place designed to make the trip feel worth it.
Come for Northern Michigan.
Come back for Rising Eagle Lodge.
